Unique cup by Effie Hegermann-Lindencrone

The cup is factory marked from the period 1853-1894 and signed by Effie Hegermann-Lindencrone.
Effie Hegermann-Lindencrone, 1860-1945, was employed by Bing & Grondahl from 1888, where she and Fanny Susanne Garde were employed from the Copenhagen Pottery Factory to decorate the Heron dinnerware - Hejrestellet, that was to be used for the Nordic Agricultural, Art and Industrial Exposure in Copenhagen 1888 and The 1889 World Exhibition in Paris.
Effie graduated from the Art School for Women, 1880-85, later further graduated from the School of Drawing and the Art Industry for Women. where she had Pietro Krohn as teacher who designed the Heron dinnerware - Hejrestellet.

Effie, together with Fanny Garde, develop their and very personal expressions in the Art Nouveau style. They got very free hands to explore at the factory, Bing and Grøndahl, where they among other things. lived together and had a joint studio. Some things they made together and signed as a jointed piece

This cup is painted with four herons and is thought to be from 1888.
