Large Barrel glass from Holmegaard

Height 14 cm.

The glass have a snapped pontil underneath which indicates its from before 1880. The glass have wear and tear on the cuppa, but is in otherwise dine condition.
Barrel glass is showed in Danish glass catalogs from 1850 and until the 1920s.
They are made at Holmegaard under the name Tøndeglas(Barrel glass) and on Aalborg Glassworks under the name Baril.
Aalborg Glasworks stops making them around the 1900's but Holmegaard continues the production for 20 years.
