Purple Free Masons glass from Holmegaard

Sold

Height 9 cm.

The glass is in good condition and has a hollow stem and a purple tone.
Freemason glass is also called Rakkerglas, due to the tradition of racking them.
To rack is to beat the glass on to the table after doing a toast. This was a tradition of inns, bars and the like in the 19th century. Most often the glass would break.

Despite the great production numbers, the Free Masons glass is therefore very rare today.
