Length 3.5 cm.
At the end of the 19th century, the social life between men and women was strongly regulated and only when one got married was the relationship more free. Young men and women could therefore not walk hand in hand or the like, not even when the man was recovering and eventually wanted to enter into marriage, physical contact was a possibility. But every gentleman then waves a bee away from his chosen shoulder or chest, and from that arose the fashion for brooches shaped like insects.
This fine bee can also be worn in a necklace as it has a small eye on top.
